Company History

Hankins, Inc. was founded in 1988, when Harold, David, and J.D. Hankins purchased a green sawmill just east of Ripley, Mississippi. The following year saw the installation of a dry kiln. In 1993, the company embarked on a seven-year plan to modernize the entire production line, including the construction of state-of-the-art sawmill, sorter, and planer facilities. A second dry kiln was installed in 2000, with a third kiln being added in 2015. Now, the mill has a production capacity of 140 million board feet/year - eight times the first year's production.

In 2005, Trey Hankins joined the operation and serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the corporation. Blake Hankins came on board in 2009 and holds the title of Chief Procurement Officer.

Later in 2009, Hankins, Inc. solidified its commitment to the future of our forests by receiving certification from the Sustainable Forest Initiative. When you purchase lumber from Hankins, Inc., you can have confidence that our products are cut from timber that has been well-managed.
